M.R.E.A.M. (Matriarchs Rule Everything Around Me)
Variable sizes. M.R.E.A.M. invokes living memory of women in my family, those who have passed, are presently maternal and for those who may experience motherhood in the future. The visual history of sisterhood is rewritten by placing pictures (and distant relationships) together and forming a landscape of family portraits that reaches through generations. Rose petal decals used are from a single rose taken from a condolence bouquet at my Aunt Vanessa's homecoming service. It imbues her maternal nurturing spirit and immortalized her legacy. Sunflower decals imparts the connection of sisterhood. Both floral components found here and in related work symbolizes the divine feminine of black womanhood.

Elise's Cups
A healing vessel used in grounding rituals. These are used daily to aid in grounding a person who may dissociate through touch (warm to hot water in cup and held for sensation) or smell (aromatherapy). Adorned with a petal from a condolence bouquet dedicated to my Aunt Vanessa, this decal imbues the sense of maternal nurturing she is known for.
